The all new Ford Mustang Mach 1 is claimed to be the most track-focused Ford Mustang ever to be offered by Ford in Europe. With a 5.0L V8 all-aluminium engine, the new Mustang Mach 1 produces 480 BHP and 420 lb-ft of torque, more than enough power and torque to be a fitting predecessor of the first Mach 1 models, produced more than 50 years ago.
A new engine oil filter and an auxiliary engine oil-cooler come together to support the performance driving side of the car on the road as well as on the track. The Mustang Mach 1 also comes with an all new bespoke tuned Active Valve Performance Exhaust system that features four chromed 4.5-inch tips for an unmistakable look in addition to the unique and classic sound.
The new Mach 1 can reach 0 to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds and downforce is increased 22% compared to that on the standard Mustang GT. This allows the driver to take corners in a more dynamic fashion whilst keeping the car stable at high speeds. However, if drivers opt in on the Handling Package, then this downforce improvement jumps to approximately 150%.
As transmissions go, the consumer has the choice between a TREMEC six-speed manual gearbox. This features a robust twin-disc clutch and short-throw shifter to make aggressive upshifts and downshifts smother when pushing the car to its limits. Consumers can also go for the automatic version of the Mach 1 which comes with Ford’s advanced 10-speed automatic gearbox, featuring an upgraded torque converter and unique calibration. Both transmissions come with a dedicated oil cooler, rear axle cooling system and limited slip differential to help transfer the optimal amount of torque to the road.
Brembo brake callipers also feature on the new Ford Mustang Mach 1 to help stop the car 60-0mph at distances of 32 metres or less.
The Handling Package also includes a larger unique higher downforce front aero splitter, new front wheel lip moldings, and a low-gloss Magnetic swing spoiler with a Gurney flap, Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires, unique chassis tuning, adjustable strut top mounts and rear tire spats from Shelby GT500.
Similar to the standard Ford Mustang and Ford Mustang GT, Mach 1 features selectable Drive Modes including Sport and Track modes, 3 with Track Apps 3 enabling drivers to deploy accelerometer, acceleration timers and Launch Control 4 features – viewed in the standard 12-inch all-digital instrument cluster.
To improve the handling and the ride of the Mach 1 adopts the latest MagneRide calibration, a stiffer steering I-shaft, new EPAS calibration, stiffer sway bars and front springs, a brake booster from the Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2.
Ford Mustang Mach 1 Exterior

The new Mach 1 also comes with unique wheels. These alloy wheels are 19 inches big and 0.5 inches wider for the front and rear, they are also designed with a 5-spoke style to them. Ford actually recommend to fit Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres to them for outstanding grip on road and track. These wheels are then finished in a moody, low-gloss dark tarnish.
